Storyline
The story revolves around Rishi (Nikhil Siddharth), a race car driver who moves to London after a breakup with his lover Tara (Rukmini Vasanth). However, things take a turn when Tara unexpectedly re enters his life, planning to propose to him. Adding to the chaos is Tulasi (Divyansha Kaushik), Rishi’s other girlfriend, whose sudden appearance complicates things further. As if this love triangle wasn’t enough, Rishi also becomes the target of a dangerous gang led by John Vijay and Ajay. The film attempts to blend romance, crime, and drama, but its execution fails to make a lasting impression. Appudo Ippudo Eppudo Review.
Performances
Nikhil Siddharth is the only saving grace in the film, effortlessly slipping into the role of a lover boy with an edge. His sincere performance is one of the few aspects that hold the film together. Rukmini Vasanth, despite having good looks, is wasted in a poorly written role. She sleepwalks through the film with little to no emotional depth. Divyansha Kaushik, however, surprises with her performance and stands out as a pleasant surprise. Her role brings an unexpected twist to the story, and she manages to grab attention with her strong screen presence.
On the other hand, John Vijay’s portrayal of the main villain is over-the-top and irritating, failing to create the necessary menace. Ajay, stuck in repetitive roles, fails to bring anything new to the table. Viva Harsha’s comic relief is also lackluster and does little to elevate the mood of the film. Appudo Ippudo Eppudo Review.
Direction and Screenplay
Sudheer Varma, known for his grip on crime dramas, fails to replicate the excitement of his previous films. The screenplay is bland, and the narrative drags on unnecessarily. The romance lacks freshness, and the emotional arcs are shallow, which makes it difficult for the audience to connect with the characters. While the film features a few comedic scenes and some potential, they do not make up for the overall lack of engagement. The second half is slightly better, but by then, the audience’s interest is already waning.
Technical Aspects
The film’s technical aspects are a mixed bag. The music, composed by Karthik, doesn’t do much to enhance the narrative. The songs feel out of place and fail to add any value to the film. However, the background score is decent and helps in elevating the second half of the movie.
The production values are top notch, with London’s scenic beauty captured beautifully on screen. The cinematography does a good job of showcasing the city’s grandeur, but unfortunately, this visual appeal is not enough to save the film from its predictable storyline. The editing is poor, with unnecessary scenes in the first half that could have been trimmed to improve the pacing.
Positives:
- Nikhil Siddharth’s performance
- A few comic relief moments
- Decent background score
- Beautiful portrayal of London
Negatives:
- Slow pace and lack of excitement
- Shallow emotional depth
- Weak performances from key cast members
- Over-the-top villain portrayal
- Uninspiring romantic arc
- Unconvincing crime elements and logical inconsistencies

Verdict
Appudo Ippudo Eppudo fails to live up to the expectations set by Sudheer Varma and Nikhil Siddharth’s previous collaborations. The film offers little in terms of entertainment, and its attempt to mix romance and crime falls flat. With a slow pace, lackluster performances, and an uninspiring screenplay, the movie leaves much to be desired. Sudheer Varma’s expertise in crafting thrilling narratives is missing here, making Appudo Ippudo Eppudo a forgettable experience.
